Introduction:

The second part of the exhibition series „Invisible Spaces“ combines three artistic positions, which, speaking through most diverse media, allow us to experience other realities. On the basis of the physically experiencable space, the sculptures of Amalia Valdés, the paintings of Dennis Rudolph and the Performance by Irina Gheorghe work as stimulants for an extended visual process using augmented/ virtual reality technologies, ritual symbols and the power of imagination, connecting us to an immaterial sphere.

The concept of Irina Gheorghes performance PRELIMINARY REMARKS ON THE STUDY OF WHAT IS NOT THERE (2019) is following the questions she asks within her research about definitions of reality in science, philosophy and art. During the performance, the artist leads the audience by voice and body movement through the space, activating the attention for the moment to create an awareness about the power of imagination. This state of mind enables to experience other forms of realities. Realities of abandoned and demolished places, still present in our memories, as same as future spaces, which might already exist though not yet experiencable by visual means.
